2 Hours

17.4 Miles.

17.4 miles is how far it is from my house to my office. It's true. I used google maps, and they're never wrong. It averages about 30 minutes driving time, not including time to park. But I don't drive into work. I hate the expressway. I'm a good citizen. I take public transportation. I take the T.

But what happens when just 1 train has an issue? You guessed it...the whole system shuts down. I take the early train into work since I have moved. It is necessary, otherwise I don't get a parking space at the train station and I have to travel further away from my house which means more traffic getting home. You'd think the early train would be relatively painless. Tack on an extra 30 minutes and it becomes mayhem.

Well, today, there was a disabled train. And it muffed up everything. Normally, it takes me an hour door to door on the train. Today, it was close to 2 hours. Jocular is not Jocular today. If a bum asks me for change, I may stab him. Watch for me on www.boston.com, ok?

@Irish - NYC needs to get its act together.
